Jodie Kallas, ERYT500, Director of Asana Training, 200 Hour Program, Yoga Teachers Training Institute, NYC, NY
Jodi’s yoga journey began in 1991 in a small gym on East 14th Street near Union Square in NYC. Her formal teacher training began in 2003 with a YogaFit weekend and it quickly progressed to a life changing 200 hour 8-month long teacher training with Suzanne Cardinale of “Into This World Yoga Teacher Training”. After several years of teaching and looking for a mid-day yoga class, she found her beloved teacher Mokshapriya Shakti teaching a sweaty Hatha yoga class on an August afternoon in a small karate studio in Floral Park. She was “home” Under the strict eye of Marianne Mitsinikos and Mokshapriya, she earned her 500 hours at the Yoga Shakti Mission in NY. Combined Mokshapriya and Marianne have well over 60 years of teaching experience and Jodi is “deeply honored and grateful to call them my teachers”. She continues to study with and take classes with Mokshapriya. She has studied with many other teachers including Scott Blossom, David Life & Dana Flynn.
Jodi has achieved:
- Level 2 Certification for Thai Yoga Bodywork
- Level 2 Reiki practitioner
- Level 1 Integrated Energy Therapy
She has studied aromatherapy with David Crow and continues to study the powers of essential oils and alternative healing modalities.
Her classes include a sense of humor and light heartedness. Yoga can be both fun and work, peaceful and energizing and her greatest joy is to see people leave her classes feeling better than when they arrived.
